Volvo Sedans vs. Audi Sedans in Golden Valley, MN

Volvo is the Premiere Carmaker for High-End Sedans - Here's Proof

At Borton Volvo Cars, we're proud to be your local St. Paul and Minneapolis home for high-end, meticulously crafted Volvo cars and SUVs. Our new vehicle inventory is brimming with incredible, can't-miss Volvo models, and we enjoy recommending them to every customer who walks through our doors.

We don't have to do much to recommend or convince Minnetonka drivers of the worthiness of our incredible Volvo models, however, because they're so well-made and so luxurious, they practically recommend themselves.

Take the sophisticated Volvo sedans in our collection, for example. Our favorite carmaker produces not one, but two impressive sedan models that are a joy to drive and to show off to Eden Prairie drivers.

The Volvo S60 is the smaller, compact sedan of the family, and the Volvo S90 is the larger, sophisticated sedan. Each model represents the stellar engineering and attention to detail that Volvo is renowned for, and each one offers the class and panache other carmakers can't come close to.

If you're in the market for a luxury sedan for your Twin Cities and Golden Valley commute, and you're torn between these two Volvo models and a competing sedan from another carmaker, we can help make your decision easier. Here, we've compared both Volvo sedans to similarly sized sedans from Audi. Read on to see for yourself all the ways in which Volvo dominates the competition.

The Volvo S60 vs. the Audi Competition

Over in the Audi lineup, both the Audi A3 and the Audi A4 sedans are comparable to the compact Volvo S60. All three sedans offer four doors, trunk space for cargo, and traditional sedan styling. But the Volvo has a leg up over both Audi models in several key areas, including:

  • Hybrid technology. For drivers who like to cut down on fuel consumption, the S60 has a nice hybrid powertrain option that's rated for 400 horsepower. Neither the Audi A3 nor the Audi A4 have a hybrid option available.
  • Standard safety features. Every Volvo S60 has a long list of standard features for safety, including a drowsy driver warning system, full-speed automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assistance, and much more. Meanwhile, neither Audi model offers the same level of safety features standard. For the Audi A3, you'll have to move up several trim levels to get safety features, and on the Audi A4 you can expect forward collision warning and mitigation, but not much else standard.

The Volvo S90 vs. the Audi Competition

The Volvo S90 offers the height of sophistication and grace in its larger sedan frame. On the Audi lineup, two sedans are similar but not quite the same. We've looked at both the Audi A6 and the Audi A7, to give you a clearer picture of what makes the Volvo S90 better:

  • Passenger comfort. Despite the fact that all three sedans are similarly sized, the Volvo S90 maximizes its interior better, to deliver more legroom in both the front and the backseats than you'll find in either the Audi A6 or Audi A7.
  • Standard features. Similar to what we found with the Volvo S60 comparison, this Volvo model also has a more comprehensive list of standard features and safety technologies. The S90 has features such as a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert and keyless entry and ignition standard, while both the Audi A6 and the Audi A7 only have these features available as options if your order a special package.
